Clay and Comfort: A Hand-Built Mug and Herbal Tea Workshop

July 19 and August 2, 2026
3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Join ceramic artist Cynthia Brownell and herbalist Seth Magos for a two-part creative wellness experience combining clay, tea, and basic herbology.

$110 per student (NCAC members $100 with discount passcode) includes all materials and tea samples.

In the first session, Cynthia will guide participants through the process of hand-building their own unique ceramic tea mug. Each mug will be inspired by one of three personal wellness themes: headache comfort, restful sleep, or calming anxiety. After class, Cynthia will take the mugs to be kiln-fired and prepared for the second workshop.

In the second session, Seth will introduce participants to the basics of herbology, with a special focus on herbs traditionally used to support headaches, insomnia, and anxiety. Participants will learn how herbal tea blends are created, what to consider when choosing herbs for a specific purpose, and how tea can become part of a personal self-care ritual.

Each participant will receive a handout, tea samples related to their chosen wellness theme, and the opportunity to enjoy tea connected to their intention in the mug they created.

Location: All Souls Unitarian Universalists Church, 1330 Gotham St, Watertown

Limit: 12 students (minimum), 20 students (minimum)

Registration deadline: July 17, 2026
